... This seems to be a high quality unit. I was looking for an alternative to my 30 yr 'devotion' to Arcair brand torches. Almost all the crucial wearing parts are interchangeable with the Arcair K2000, the tip insulators, rotator head (disk), and the cable/hose, but NOT the air valve it seems nor the main metal body and parts--but those don't seem to wear out easy anyway. I'm hoping that this brass unit will substantially outlast the aluminum K2000, once the disk bearing hole wears out the old K2000 is junk even if it otherwise fully servicable. It was necessary for me to screw the disk retainer properly and to lube the contact surfaces with graphite to allow for proper rotation, it was not quite assembled properly but that's trivial.
The air jet holes seem to be slightly bigger then the K2000--this leads to better preformance but substantially higher CFM requirements. I have now used it for several jobs, have enough hrs on it (just a few) now that I have confidence it's...
