Recently purchased the Jet 8 inch jointer with helical cutter and am enjoying it very much so far. I don't really have much to compare it with because I had a very old 6 inch machine with bad cutters and table but this jointer flattens and cuts a square edge with ease. The helical head is quiet and produces a very smooth surface.
The machine came to my door very well packaged and without dents or problems. All the parts were there along with a good manual. Even though I'm not mechanically inclined a friend and I put it together in 90 minutes.
I would recommend this jointer.
