8mm punch failed pretty quickly
I have used the smaller 5mm version of this punch branded by Astro Pneumatic. It came with a 1 year warranty card in the box and has worked well now for over 2 years. This 8mm punch appears to be identical to all the others in the same price range. They are most likely all coming from the same plant in Taiwan and being re-boxed/branded. I expected it to perform similarly but with a larger hole being punch. I used it a few times and yest it worked as expected. Two and a half months later it has failed. It stopped retracting far enough to punch 20 or 22 gauge steel sheet. I pulled out the box and invoice and didn't see any warranty information. After contacting eToolscity they tell me the tool only has a 30 warranty but if I send it back they will repair or replace it. So we'll see where this goes. A 1 year warranty is reasonable, a 30 warranty is not. I would suggest checking the included warranty and purchase the tool from a dealer that honors what I believe to be the manufacturer...
