Prox on, Prox off
For small jobs that do not require too much power, and or time, this grinder is decent. It has the power equivalent of a dremel, and 'is' a dremel-type tool excepting for the gear pair that pivots the tool's motor pinion gear into a vertical angle, hence 'angle' grinder. However, the workmanship is poor for this class of machine. The gear pair, under moderate to heavy stress, over a year or so, will disintegrate, and cause loss of power or even worse: loss of a working tool.

I originally purchased this Proxxon, because I believed its slim long neck would enable me to reach and rough out hard to reach areas I normally would have to use a chisel or my Foredom for with a long burr bit. Now, normally, I use my cherished Arbortech carver for roughing out wood, but for smaller jobs, I believed that the Proxxon would be better suited for the job due to its long purported reach. I was wrong. The Proxxon had about the same reach, and it is MUCH weaker even at its maximum rpm...
