Update: I set it up on the shelf beneath my workbench and having used it for several months now I must say it does an excellent job of filtering out dust, specially in an area as small as my shop. The remote is very handy and works perfectly, since the control panel is not easily accessible. It is an effective and essential adjunct to any dust collection system, but even moreso with the portable Ridgid/Hepa system that I connect with whatever tool I'm using. (no room for a large collection system) I would have preferred something smaller, but if you have the room, this unit is a worthwhile investment and does a great job.
I can't really say how it works as it is so big I don't know how I'm going to install it. This Shop Fox air filter looked great in the photo, but the size specs were burried so far down in the description I never got to them (my fault I know). When the package arrived I was shocked but assumed it was mostly styrofoam shipping protection. Not so! the unit...
