Best Thing Ever
I skeptically ordered the Timber Tuff Manual Log Splitter after reading reviews and pricing several models. This one looked the sturdiest for the least amount. First, I had barely clicked "Place Order" when FedEx arrived with my tool. Okay, it wasn't quite that fast, but almost! I took it out to the woodpile and tried it out. I was AMAZED at how well it worked. Easy, effortless, efficient. I am thrilled with this purchase. I might also add that I am in my mid-fifties, with severe carpal tunnel, and this tool allows me to split wood with no problems. I'm hooked! Thank you Tmber Tuff, for making my wood splitting fun again!

Started great...now less than satisfactory.
When I first received the item, I couldn't have been happier. It was easily assembled and worked beautifully. I use it to split small (16-18 inch logs that have already been split when delivered) into smaller logs to help keep the fire burning. The logs are all well-seasoned.

After about three weeks of flawless use, the hydraulic cylinder simply stopped working. I followed the insructions by adding hydraulic jack oil, and while it is now working somewhat, it takes at least twice the number of strokes to effect the same movement as when I first began to use it.

I'm thinking that I need the hydraulic unit replaced. I will be happy to return the one that is no longer working satisfactorily. That seems to make more sense than trying to return the entire splitter. What do I need to do?

Thanks.

Works fine
The one I got didn't match the pic, but it works fine. Same size. Have used it a couple times since I got it 2 tears ago I think it is now. Got it to broach key ways on the inside of pulleys that I have needed to bore out to fit the new shaft size. It does what I needed, is all I care. Not sure that what I got was a China sorta copy or what. Is made ok, so I'm happy with it.

Great Value!
You can't go wrong with this reconditioned nailer - mine really didn't look like it had ever been used! Be forewarned - this tool takes some muscle to operate! I used it to lay about 600 sq ft of hardwood, and then I sold it on Craigslist for half of what I purchased it for here - definitely cheaper and more convenient than a rental.
