Good tool, very bad battery life makes it not worthwhile
I would not buy this (In fact I returned it the next day). The big issue is not how it cuts, as it did just fine in this aspect. It is about the battery life. In addition, the batteries in my unit were very hard to remove, I even had to disassemble the tool to remove the battery once.

I bought the tool, because I extended my stairs and needed to make some modifications to the hardwood (basically cut two boards at 45 degree angles so I could put another mitered board against them). To accomplish this I went through 3 batteries before I completed the job. Each battery was lasting about 3-5 minutes before it lost enough charge that it wouldn't cut anymore.

With the battery life, it just doesn't seem like a valuable tool addition in my opinion. Not a Miller, but worth it for the price.
First off, the only issue with this welder is the power cord, it has the wrong voltage plug on it due to it being from Germany.
It is a 230V welder but comes with a standard 115V plug. The welder is marked for 230V on the outside of the case and will not work at 115V.
It draws about 20-22A so I installed a 30A breaker and bought a 30A 230V rated plug and rewired it.

After that it works flawlessly. The Stick function works fantastic, I don't have any problem welding 1/4in thick steel and smaller. The Plasma cutter works fantastic (air line pressure is at 75psi) making smooth quick cuts in smaller stuff but still being able to cut 1/4 steel, although it will require a bit more time and a small amount of grinding for a flawless cut.

I have not tested the TIG portion of the welder, however I am looking into getting/making the footpetal control before I go that route.

In all, its a great welder for the price. And the $500 price is very cheap for a...

I researched for weeks before deciding on the LPT5000D plasma cutter. I wanted a hypertherm but the $$$ was three times as much. What sold me was their use of IGBTs for the inverter. I work with inverters and agree IGBTs are better than Mosfets at high temps. The pilot arc feature is great. As a part time farmer it seems all steel is rusty or painted. I cut some 1/4 inch rusty sheet metal without cleaning for the ground or the cut area. I would not buy a cutter without the pilot arc feature. The thickest I have cut so far is 3/8. The only problem is keeping a steady hand when "free cutting". A set of jigs/guides would help greatly for cutting holes, etc. If you move the cutting head backwards into the cut, you lose electrical path and the torch will go out. After a "blow off" period to cool the head you can retrigger the cutter again. The more I use it the better I like it. If I had known it would cut rusty material so well I would have got a bigger model to use for salvage...

Replacement For Very Old H. Bandsaw
I haven't received this saw yet, but it's pretty much the same as the old one I am replacing. The old one was purchased at an estate sale for 100 bucks. I was only able to cut six (6) 3-inch aluminum discs before the Tiwanese motor decided to burn up and quit working. It was built in 1983, so no telling how many hours are on it. (I wish I had that 100 bucks back now!). I went to WW Graingers to get a new motor, expecting about $125 for a replacement. Well, electric motors have taken a flying leap in cost as the replacement motor was a whopping $275!! I could not in all conscience put such an expensive motor on such an old and worthless bandsaw. So I decided to put that $275 towards this little Shop Fox, partly because it had a 3/4HP motor vs. the 1/2HP of all the rest. (I really wanted the next model up with the nicer stand and even the ones with coolant flow). But for as little as I need to cut stock, this should do fine for a very long time...let's hope.

Overstated Performance- not as advertised.
I do not believe this item was advertised honestly. Advertised as 50 amps capacity (advanced technology and assumed 220 volt) but the cable included is only rated for half that. The cuts on plate heavier than sheet metal (1/4"+) at 220vac were very rough and the tip had to be in close contact with the metal, increasing tip cleaning and replacement. The manual was so minimal (a couple of pages with typos) that it was useless, containing mostly cautions but no detailed operating instructions. I called the supplier to inquire about replacement consumable tips (you only get a couple with the unit and will use them quickly) and the representative (in broken English) stated she did not know what they were and asked if I could send a picture! This is not industrial duty as indicated. It is a realatively affordable hobbyist tool. I inquired about sending it back, I was told I would have to pay freight and wait for them to evaluate it and reach a determination. If I had it to do all over, I...
