Be Careful with the Batteries
This is a super driver/ flashlight combo with the exception of two problems. The chuck is difficult to tighten on drill bits for the really tough jobs. And the batteries, if one should begin to leak (noticed by blue color on the contacts) had better be disposed of promptly. Good tool, very bad battery life makes it not worthwhile
I would not buy this (In fact I returned it the next day). The big issue is not how it cuts, as it did just fine in this aspect. It is about the battery life. In addition, the batteries in my unit were very hard to remove, I even had to disassemble the tool to remove the battery once.

I bought the tool, because I extended my stairs and needed to make some modifications to the hardwood (basically cut two boards at 45 degree angles so I could put another mitered board against them). To accomplish this I went through 3 batteries before I completed the job. Each battery was lasting about 3-5 minutes before it lost enough charge that it wouldn't cut anymore.

With the battery life, it just doesn't seem like a valuable tool addition in my opinion. If they had a corded version then I would take another look as the one thing I really liked is that it is compatible with most other attachments (Such as the Fein) for this I gave them 2 stars, otherwise it would have...

I did nothing but make fun of a buddy who bought the Milwaukee 12v compact drill/driver after he already had a complete 18v Dewalt set. That all changed when he left it at my house one day. I initially purchased the Milwaukee M12-series model 2450-22 1/4" impact driver. It advertises 850 in-lb torque. This Bosch claims 930 in-lb torque. In lb-ft, that's 71 for the Milwaukee and 78 for the Bosch. This all started with the Milwaukee's inability to loosen a fastener anywhere near its rated torque...

I performed my test on two exhaust manifold bolts using the same torque wrench and same 1/4" hex to 3/8" square adapter and a 12mm socket. Each tool had a full battery and each was tested on both 12mm bolts. I tightened the bolts in 5 ft-lb increments until i couldn't break them free anymore. The Bosch was able to break free bolts tightened as much as 45-50 ft-lb. The Makita would break bolts free at 35 ft-lb max. This gives the Bosch about 60% of rated torque and the Makita 50% of its claimed torque.

So, based on the above, neither tool delivered its rated torque in my test. Given i will mostly use this for working on my car, I wanted something...

Overall I am extremely happy with the charging speed and quality of these tools. First test was putting together a bookcase. Bosch as always performed perfectly. The only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is to say shame on Bosch, the flashlight in this kit made where? You guessed it China! I bet the 4 other pieces, batteries and charger will stand the test of time, but the first thing to go will be the Wong special flashlight. I'll report back. This is extremely handy to use as a set. The impact driver, PS40B is great for small impact wrench work but I use it more for drilling holes in wood. It goes through 3/4" oak fast. The Driver, PS20B, and the impact driver are small, light weight and have plenty of long lasting power. The PS10B has the limitations mentioned with the clutch but it does the job once you get used to it. One of the batteries quit working within 6 months but a call to their help line and a new battery was quickly sent. I have a 12 V lithium Milwaukee driver. It is a little heaver in weight and the collet ejects the bit when pulled and then snaps into place when the new bit is inserted. A nice feature that these do not have but this is minor. My main complaint is I only have two batteries and may buy another one so I can get more use from them. Not Nearly as Nice as Expected
I have the Bosch PS40-2a 12v Impact Driver, and think it is absolutely the best tool I've ever purchased. That thing rocks in every way. Its power, balance, weight, and run time all combine to make a truly useful tool that I've needed for years before I bought it.

It was with that in mind that I decided to try the PS30-2a drill, even though there was very little out there (or here) in terms of reviews. I wanted a drill that was just as good as their impact driver. Unfortunately, I was not nearly as impressed with this tool.

Don't get me wrong, this drill works fine. Its action is smooth and the chuck works great. But what really turned me off was the lack of balance. It is quite top heavy.
