I have a lot of sanders. 6amp bosch orbital, a few 3 amp dewalt orbitals, 4amp milwaukee 1/2 sheet, 3amp bosch 1/2 sheet, an old makita belt sander, and a black and decker belt sander.

Couldnt beleive the first time I picked it up. THought it was just a drill but then almost screwed an allen screw through a chair without realizing it. A cautionary note
I bought this router during a promotion about a year ago. I figured for the price, I couldn't go too wrong. I use this router mounted in my router lift with good results. Positive experience echos that of many other reviews. However, I do need to sound a couple notes of caution:

1. I've had some problems with the collet(s) releasing bits. The design seems a little odd, and Its a struggle releasing some bits without damaging the collet jaws. For best results, be sure you don't fully seat the router bit. If you have problems with the bit releasing, tap it lightly with a rubber or plastic mallet before removing the bit. It should drop free. (Please see the following comment section for some updated information)

I bought this drill so that I would have a nice, solid, powerful electric drill to augment my somewhat low-end but very useful cordless. I'm very happy with this drill. One of my favorite things, and something I hadn't thought about, is the quality of the keyless chuck. One revolution of the chuck just barely moves the three bit grips. So compared to my other drill it takes many more twists to go from fully open to fully closed. But the resulting grip on the bit is much tighter than I get with my other drill that requires fewer twists. I think that's fantastic to have that kind of tightening power on the bits.

The balance and heft of the unit are perfect for me. It's billed as a lightweight unit and it is fairly light (but not too light).

Hitachi's Dependable Compressor
I chose the Hitachi three years ago because it has a fine compressor and motor, solid construction, and overall good design. It has been entirely reliable and three years later I still am using it both in my cabinet shop and on the job for residential remodeling. The only significant design flaw is the position of the gauges. They are subject to being knocked off. I found this out the hard way one day when I had to slam on the brakes in my van and a sliding tool box sheared one of them off. Despite this one flaw I would still by another Hitachi in a heart beat. The Hitachi is not only reliable, but, unlike many compressors, it truly works on 15 amps. This compressor has never blown a fuse on me, which is something of a miracle considering the wiring in many of the older homes I remodel.
