Perfect for most anyone. Great Value.
This is a great set at a great price. I have used Ryobi for 6 years now with very few problems. I use my tools a lot more than most homeowners but not as much as a contractor.
If you have the cash and really use your tools daily or for a long time, I'd go with a more expensive set like Milwaukee(pretty much the best out there, but fairly expensive-3 times more)or Dewalt.
Make sure you get at liest 2 batteries, the quick charger and Lithium. I've had good luck with Reconditioned tools, but you always take a chance. I have a small 9V Ryobi Li-Ion drill that complements this set perfectly for light jobs. I personally also have a full set of Ryobi corded tools for heavy work. If your going to work more than a hour, you'll need multiple batteries. I have 2 Lithium and 2 NiCads to keep me going on large projects like decks and building a shop or something but most people will be ok with 2 batteries.

These Litheon tools are more compact and lightweight than comparable NiCad models, giving you big power in a small package. And featuring the industry's most advanced lithium-ion technology, they have twice the battery life, up to 50% more runtime, and 50% less weight than the competition.

Kit includes a hammer drill/driver and a circular saw.

Advanced Litheon Technology for Optimal Performance
This kit contains two 18-volt Litheon series tools, all of which utilize state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery technology and Bosch's proprietary ECP system. ECP guarantees optimal performance of the tools and batteries, even under tough working conditions.

Litheon batteries are designed to have a maximum cycle life with a minimal amount of self-discharge and absolutely no memory effect, so Bosch's Litheon tools are always ready to work when you are. Best of all, these batteries will fully charge in 30 minutes and will be at 85% capacity in just 15 minutes.

Unique, Flexible Power System
Like all tools in Bosch's 18-Volt line, the tools in this kit can be used with either a 1.3-Ah BAT609 Slim Pack battery or a 2.6-Ah BAT318 Fat Pack (two included). If you're looking for a lighter-weight option, the Slim Pack is the perfect choice. If longer runtime is what you need, the Fat Pack will do the job. Bosch is the only power tool manufacturer that provides this option.

17618 Hammer Drill/Driver
The 17618 Hammer Drill/Driver offers fast speeds, high torque, and durable construction. Its high-torque mode can produce over 650 in./lbs. of driving force, while the high-speed mode can produce 2,050 RPM, or up to 30,750 BPM. To protect against real-world conditions, the Durashield housing and unibody power-train combine with a 1/2-inch metal chuck and metal collar for maximum durability.

For added convenience, a built-in LED illuminates dark or enclosed areas, while an ergonomic two-tone, soft-grip handle offers extended comfort. Finally, a 25-position clutch and variable-speed trigger let you match the correct speed to the job, so you can get complete control and precise results.

CCS180 Circular Saw
This kit also comes with the CCS180 Circular Saw, which features a 6.5-inch saw blade that can cut through two-inch material, even at a full depth of cut. Designed for use with thin kerf blades only, this powerful tool comes with an exclusive anti-snag lower guard that helps you ease into the cutting material, as well as an easy-to-read depth-of-cut gauge for improved accuracy.

There's also a 50-degree bevel for versatility, a heavy-duty aluminum foot and upper guard for durability, and a spindle lock that allows for fast and easy blade changes.

ProVantage Guarantee
Both of these tools come with the ProVantage three-year protection plan, which guarantees two years of battery protection and one year of tool protection. Under this plan, you can receive two years of free battery replacements, tool replacement for one year, and a free tool repair package for the second and third years.

Who knew?
I went looking at the hardware store for these Bosch tools as replacements for the identical items that were stolen. I realized that they no longer sold all the items I wanted. After a generic search online, I saw a link for Amazon. I have made plenty of purchases at Amazon before, but never would have looked for tools... Not only do they have all the tools I wanted, but at a much better price. I guess now I know Amazon is the first place to look!

Excellent Set Overall
This is probably the best 18v cordless set available. When I was shopping I narrowed it down to lithium-ion sets by either Makita or Milwaukee. I ultimately chose Milwaukee because the batteries got slightly better reviews.

Description : Bosch 1660RK 24 Volt Circular Saw/Reciprocating Saw Combo Kit Bosch Power Tools and Accessories is one of the divisions within the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, which is one of the largest power tool and accessory manufacturers in the world. Bosch provides a complete line of corded and cordless power tools and accessories engineered to survive any jobsite and allow professionals to take control of their work. Bosch offers premium quality power bits, insert bits, bit holders and nutsetters for use in all drill/drivers and power screwdrivers Bosch 1660RK 24 Volt Circular Saw/Reciprocating Saw Combo Kit Features: 24 Volt Circular Saw 24 Volt Reciprocating Saw Combo Kit *Image shown may vary by color, finish, or materialIf you're having trouble finding a cordless combo kit that packs enough cutting capacity at an affordable price, give this 24-volt package from Bosch a try. The blade-left circular saw offers as much power and capacity as you could ask for in a cordless saw. It can easily cut regular 1-1/2-inch-thick material at a full 50-degree bevel, and the bevel mechanism has a positive stop at 45 degrees. The saw features tool-free, rear-pivot depth-of-cut adjustments and tool-free bevel adjustments. The wrench for blade changes stores in a clip right on the base. The rear battery configuration on this saw allowed Bosch to give the tool good, even balance while maintaining a nice low profile.

In this kit, Bosch teams the circular saw with a burly 24-volt reciprocating saw that provides plenty of heavy-duty cutting power. Its 0 to 2,300 spm speed ranks it with many corded reciprocating saws in raw cutting speed. The reciprocating saw also features tool-free blade changing and shoe adjustments, and, in a feature unique to Bosch's reciprocating saws, the user can switch the stroke length from 3/4 inch for precision plunge cuts to 1-1/4 inch for faster cuts. For a reciprocating saw, it's relatively easy on the arms, and for a cordless model, its power can't be beat.

The batteries on Bosch's 24-volt tools are 2 amp hr ni-cads, made for Bosch by Panasonic. While we really like the padded grips Bosch uses on its cordless tools, the 24-volt battery does add a little extra heft to these tools, and no matter how nice the grip is, you will notice the extra weight if you carry these tools around all day. This kit is ideal for contractors and other professionals looking for heavy-duty tools at a great price. The full kit includes the 6-1/2-inch circular saw, reciprocating saw, two 24-volt batteries, a one-hour charger, a carbide circular saw blade, a rip fence, two reciprocating saw blades, and a case that holds it all. --Brian Trinen
Features :

• 1660K 24-volt 6-1/2" cordless saw
• 1645B 24-volt dual stroke reciprocating saw
• Runs on Platinum series 24-volt Ni-cad batteries (two included)
• Also includes one-hour charger, carbide circular saw blade, rip fence, two reciprocating saw blades, and case
• One-year warranty

Awesome Raw Power!
I purchased the Bosch 24 volt with the Drill, Flashlight, Circular Saw, and reciprocating saw. This set is nothing short of awesome! The reciprocating saw blasts through a very thick metal pipe like it was butter! I didn't expect to finish that job on one battery but I was wrong. I have no doubt it could have cut that pipe 50 times on that one charge, it didn't even slow slightly. The drill is the same story, true corded power. I'm 6'5" and 265 lbs and the drill "caught" while drilling 1/4" steel with a 1/2 drill bit and damn near broke me wrist. Regarding the weight......I have been so amazed with the power that I haven't even noticed. With the drill, put the supplied handle on this monster because it takes two hands and a strong grip! I do wonder if the 2.4 amp hour batteries I have seen have a significant advantage over the 2.0 amp hour batteries that it ships with.

About Bosch's Bluecore Batteries
Bosch takes its popular drill/drivers and combo kits to the next level with Bluecore Battery Technology. Bosch is so confident that users will get up to 50-percent longer battery life, that it is offering a 2-year battery guarantee with ProVantage. Bluecore Batteries were engineered with internal cooling rods placed between the battery cells to absorb damaging heat. That way, the battery cells stay cooler during operation and charging as compared with standard batteries which heat up quickly, speeding up chemical breakdown and shortening battery life. Bluecore batteries can charge in 30 minutes while other batteries take up to three hours to charge when hot. And best of all, all Bluecore batteries are compatible with current Bosch cordless tools.

This particular combo kit comes with the four major tools, plus two of these Bluecore batteries -- and a magnetic bit holder, side handle, 18-tooth carbide blade, two reciprocating saw blades, a double-ended bit, and a carrying bag to keep everything together.
Features :

• Combo kit including hammer drill/driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw, flashlight, and 2 Bluecore batteries

Disappointing, Bosch Quality Not What It Was
I have been using Bosch Cordless tools for about 5 years. I bought this set about 6 months ago and sold my older ones on Ebay. That was a mistake. The blade holder on the Reciprocating saw just broke. A new one (minor part) with shipping and handling fees costs almost $30! The drill is already making weird noises and unlike the clutch on the older model slips and hangs up between speeds. The batteries are needing charged much more frequently already. The only real improvement is the battery charger and perhaps the swift charging is behind the shorter battery life. The last straw was the cordless jigsaw I had purchased separately. I used it four times in 2 years and it is dead. The brushes welded to the armature! The only use was on 3/4" plywood to cut out sink templates. Unacceptable! I think an excellent clue to Bosch Quality problems is the large number of Factory reconditioned units for sale. I am going to buy a set of Milwaukee cordless and give them a try. If they work out you...

great set for the money
I bought this set after much research. I am a carpenter by trade and have
used bosch and makita lithium tools in commercial construction.
I was still using a 18v dewalt for home and sidework and I wanted something
lighter. This was perfect for me at this price. If the price was as high
as the white makita set I would have bought that just based on mak's reputation. Since I bought this set I've ran large screws and tapcons
with the impact and pre-drilled with the drill. I'm very satisfied with
the initial performance, I'll post if I have any problems.

Nice compact set
I did nothing but make fun of a buddy who bought the Milwaukee 12v compact drill/driver after he already had a complete 18v Dewalt set. That all changed when he left it at my house one day. I soon picked up my own 12v set by Makita with the circular saw to compliment my 18V LXT set. The size is perfect for having in your kitchen closet or somewhere close if you're frequently into little projects like I am. It takes up very little room when tucked in the case and leaves room for extra tools too.

drill/driver- I find myself reaching for this more often than a regular screwdriver. The small size lets you be very precise and the light is an absolute bonus. I had no problems screwing 3" screws into 2x4's. It has plenty of torque and great battery life.

circular saw- blade spins with more torque than sheer rpm's than I expected. My major use for this saw was cutting tons of hardwood lath frome a home rehab into shorter pieces for my wood-burner. My other use...

Great combination
This is a great little combo kit.

The radio:

-is convenient.
-is relatively small, in size, weight and sound.
-is not going to fill a big space with sound, but it sounds fine, albeit a little tinny. (However, I don't think you could expect more for the price and size.)
-seems to last a long time on a 12v battery.
-does not have a handle on top but has 2 side handles which are great for carrying it around.
-has a useful ipod/mp3 player compartment--it's a little work to get the ipod in there, but once in there, it is pretty secure--you can turn the ipod on, close the compartment, turn on the radio, hold it with one hand by one of the handles and listen as you swing it back and forth as you walk. Note, it's a little bit of a hassle to access the compartment if it's closed--so you may want to rely on playlists/shuffle in that case.
-includes a plug so that you can run it off a/c power.
-does NOT include a charger...

About Makita's 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Tool Series
As one of the pioneers driving the cordless tool revolution, Makita changed the game with its breakthrough 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Series. Three years after its debut, Makita's LXT Series has grown from seven to over 35 tools, providing a wide range of cordless solutions for professional tradesmen. Makita also added 18V Compact Lithium-Ion for cordless power in a more compact size. Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries and ENERGY STAR rated Optimum Charging System provide several benefits over old battery technology. When compared to traditional 18V Ni-Cd batteries, Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have 40% less weight, longer run time, and five-times lower self-discharge to keep cells active and ready to use at any time.

Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion battery delivers 2,000 cycles -- 2.5X more than Ni-Cd. In addition, built-in shock absorbing features help protect the battery, and sixteen firm-holding contact terminals deliver constant high power. During the charging process, a built-in memory chip in the battery communicates with the Optimum Charger for a more efficient charge, extending the battery life. Makita's Optimum Charger is also faster: it will charge an 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery in just 30 minutes, and an 18V Compact Lithium-Ion battery in only 15 minutes. Makita also offers a Rapid Automotive Charger for 18V LXT and 18V Compact Lithium-Ion batteries that plugs into 12V DC sockets equipped in most automobiles and trucks for added mobility. Very Happy With These Tools
I'm a general contractor that has done a lot of commercial electrical work as well. I've been using Bosch 18v cordless tools for awhile now and they worked ok. Big and clunky, but lots of power much like the Dewalt stuff. After doing a bunch of work at a Makita testing plant and getting to know some of Makita's engineers I was very impressed and decided to try out Makita tools after my Bosch stuff started to get old. I've been very stoked on this tool set! All the tools are much lighter in weight, but feel more solid.(Might have something to due with most of my Bosch stuff being made in Mexico) The power seems to be a little down compared to my Bosch, but not much. The light weight and compactness of these tools more than makes up for their slight lack of power. I purchased two of the smaller batteries and use them with the drill and impact gun. (other than the light these are the only tools the smaller batteries fit in this set, although the bigger batteries work with all the...
