I placed an order for this unit direct from Grizzly. They included a free gift in the order . I chose a set of 115 titanium bits. The bit set arrived first. The metal box that contained the bits was low quality with a interfering mechanisms and a catch that didn't line up. Despite the cheesy metal box, I've used the bits several times now and they work well.
This made me concerned about the dust collector. My fears were warranted - the box showed up and was beat up. It had some minor crushing and a couple of tears and one good sized hole. The pallet onto which it was stapled had one of the bottom members torn off leaving bare nails sticking out.
The box had an extra piece of cardboard taped to the top which appears to be because the box was so beat up that it needed augmentation. It took about an hour and a half to assemble it and the impeller is metal. The directions for assembly are hard to read and all they are pictures you kinda have to figure it out on your own. The manufacture should rewrite the assembly instructions. I planed about 300 board feet of hickory this weekend for a bed i am building for a friend and the dust collector works great. I figure if i get 3-4 years out of it it has paid for itself. It is no noisier than the dust collectors at work...

I have had this collector for well over a year now and just a few things that I do not like about it:
The collection port needs to be lower or at least 90* from the floor.
My DeWalt 735 planer blows out more air than the collector can suck, but it still does a very good job art collecting the cuttings.
I rewired mine for 220V, I went off of the schematic in the back of the owners manual first and when I hit the switch, it just hummed. There was a sticker inside the switch box that showed a different wiring diagram and I used it and it worked just fine.
The way that you attach the bag to the machine leaves alot of room for improvement but it is very effective. It can be a pain in the rear to remove and re-install it so I put a separator in between the work and the collector making the time between dumping the bag pretty much gone.
I would totally recommend this machine.

When I finally got the dust collection system it was very easy to assemble. It only took maybe 30 minutes to put together. It seems very well made. I've tried to use a 5hp shop vac to do the job but could never get all of the dust that you make doing wood working projects. I will get the 1 micron canister for this system in future. But for now this will do just fine. I did add a 21Ft DustRight hose from Rockler and converted all my machines to the 4" hose fittings. I really wish there was some sort of industry standard for hose attachment fittings. It seems more time consuming to get them all converted then it did putting the dust collector together
