I placed an order for this unit direct from Grizzly. They included a free gift in the order . I chose a set of 115 titanium bits. The bit set arrived first. The metal box that contained the bits was low quality with a interfering mechanisms and a catch that didn't line up. Despite the cheesy metal box, I've used the bits several times now and they work well.
This made me concerned about the dust collector. My fears were warranted - the box showed up and was beat up. It had some minor crushing and a couple of tears and one good sized hole. The pallet onto which it was stapled had one of the bottom members torn off leaving bare nails sticking out.
The box had an extra piece of cardboard taped to the top which appears to be because the box was so beat up that it needed augmentation. The box looked like it had be opened and taped shut several times. Notice this: Grizzly shipped a 425 lb shipment in a cardboard box stapled to a pallet and it is not bolted...

Overall this is a very good unit. There was a problem with the packaging of the panals for the base.They were in plastic bags and in shipping some minor damage to paint was present.
Also when the base panals were painted none of the tapped holes were protected from paint.
If a person uses the proper blade,speed,feed this machine does a great job. Very good results, one thing I wish it had is a coolant pan and return to the pump. Also came pre-wired for 110 volts can be changed to 220 single phase.

My sander arrived in just a few days after ordering. It came in a surprisingly small box given the overall size of the equipment.
Assembly was simple, but as stated in another review, the top is very heavy.
After assembly I noticed that the spindle sander table was askew. It appeared that the top had been hit hard which bent the metal brackets over to one side. The box showed no signs of damage, so I can only assume it was packaged this way.
At this point, I had cut the box and Styrofoam inserts into pieces to lift the top out. With the unit already assembled I decide to straighten the problem myself. I removed the table and bent the brackets back to center. This worked out fine and in the end the table was perpendicular to the spindle in all directions.
I can't knock Grizzly for their customer support since I didn't bother to call them about the problem. I'm sure that they would have replaced the unit, but I'd rather not deal with...

They said that it would have to be sent back for repair or replacement. They setup for UPS to pick it up at my house at no charge to me. They called back about 10 days later. They said that they would replace it with a new one. The problem is that they refund your money and do a new order. Since I paid through Amazon they have to refund Amazon and then Amazon has to refund me. If decide to buy do not buy it through Amazon get it from Grizzly You don't save any money getting it from Amazon. Plus it takes to long to get your refund though Amazon. Once I get refund I will give it another try.

Don't forget to get a plug as the saw does not come with one. Also, don't bother with the stock
blade, this thing is terrible. It is amazing how great the saw cuts with a good blade in it.
I have a 3/4 4tpi blade right now and it slices through cherry and walnut easily. I had it tracking straight and re-sawing even cuts with just a minimum of tuning.
The only complaint about the saw is the amount of effort required to change blades.
To really adjust the lower bearings, the table is in the way. Due to this I could not give it a 5 star as I am somewhat reluctant to change blades to the task.
But the power, fit and finish and features for the price make this an amazing saw.

By the time my job was complete however, the tool couldn't grip the bit tightly- it would loosen after just a bit of pressure. That's why my review is for only 3 stars.

Very nice jointer for the price
I bought this jointer about 3 years ago. I'm an avid hobbiest woodworker, and use the jointer almost daily. Out of the box, the jointer was set up perfectly. No adjustments needed for a flawless cut. In the past three years, I've rotated the cutters once - although I have broken three cutters (they're carbide after all).
Hints/tips:
The carbide inserts were way over torqued coming from the factory. There were several that I couldn't get loose without ruining the torx head on the screw. The first thing you should do with a new jointer is to check all of the insert screws to ensure you can get 'em loose. If a screw is over tightened, you can very carefully break the carbide insert with a punch (don't damage the machined seat). The carbide is brittle and breaks very easily. Great machine
I just purchased this machine used and wow what a machine! It is hefty and hard to move around so where you put it plan on it not moving.
To get this machine into my shop I took the entire top apart and moved it in pieces due to the weight.
Reassembly was a snap and I have used it many times already. The belt replacements is the easiest I have seen.
I have this tied into a 30 amp 220 circuit and have not had the amp gauge above 25 yet. I prefer to make a few extra passes than try to do it all at once. The time this saves sanding glue up panels is amazing. As above you can change the belts in a minute or less. The platen versus drum surface sanding is a great option. You can remove a decent amount and then back off on the higher grits to get a smooth surface that you don't have to do anything else to.
Would definetly recommend this to anyone, that goes to say with all of Grizzly's products. They are a class act of a company with excellent customer service.
