I had an old Rand 4000 air compressor that was recalled (1986 model). As part of their recall program they let me choose from a number of different air compressors at a discounted price. I chose the SS3F2, 2hp 30 gallon Garage Mate since it is almost identical to my old Rand 4000. So far I'm very happy with this compressor. The first thing I was shocked about is how quiet it is. You can still listen to the radio while this thing is running! Also, with the 30 gallon tank, it has to run less anyway. Make sure you also buy the start up kit because when I got my compressor it did not have oil in it yet (or even include any). I found the start up kit for $24.95 online and it comes with 2x 0.5L bottles of oil and 2 air filters. The pump only holds 0.5L of oil so you have a full bottle left over for a future change. The start up kit also extends your factory warranty by 2 years. I highly recommend this air compressor and Ingersoll Rand products!

Please DO NOT hammer the metal hub caps onto the wheels before FIRST fitting the assembly of the undercarriage on the lower rim of the metal body of the vacuum. The wheels only go on ONE way. Once the wheels are on inside out, it's EXTREMELY hard to pry the hub caps back off. Removal involves the metal blade of a spackling tool (to protect the soft plastic of the wheels), a screwdriver, safety goggles, and quite a bit of swearing. If you avoid putting the wheels on inside out, assembly is easy.

Four stars. The 1/1/2" hose is just not very flexible and difficult coil and store. The 18' reach is great but I found that a 1/1/2" Fein vacuum hose will couple with the Shop Vacuum and can even be linked to the Shopvac Hose. I prefer to use the Fein vacuum hose just because of flexibility. This unit replaced a Craftsman 16Hp rolling unit. The hose and fittings are "typical" made in china, poor design, cheap manufacturing, marginal performance. The hose fittings will not last more and a few mating's and the threaded clamp strips with anything more than a snug tightening, then of course it will not rotate thus it kinks easily...

A Quality Band Saw for the Price range
I just purchased the JET JWBS-14CSW Band Saw and sold my 4 yr old Grizzly G1019 14" Band Saw. After using the Grizzly for 4 years I can assure you this JET band saw is in a class all by its self. The Grizzly was an ok band saw for the price, but suffers from poor craftsmanship, proper wheel balance, difficult to keep blade in track and vibration. Getting a true cut was impossible. The JET band saw was easy to set up, took about 2 hours. The manual is easy to understand. The first thing I purchased with the saw was a "Link Belt"; all my power tools have the Link Belt. During set-up I used "liquid lock-tight" on all the bolts and screws (for assembly parts only) to ensure no loose hardware down the road. After set up was complete I was truly impressed with the very low to non-existent vibration. I can turn it on and balance a nickel on edge. Great Sander - Great Value
I bought this sander from Tool Crib a few months ago. It wasn't on the Amazon.com site at the time.

I went with the open stand because I wanted some storage below. Not sure if that's an option thru Amazon.com.

The sander was easy to set up. The fit and finish was excellent. It runs smooth, though the graphite platen behind the belt sander it somewhat noisy. It seems to have quieted a bit with more use. Bits of the graphite material get all over the place for about the first 15 mins of use but that seems to have taken care of itself.

I found the belt a little tough to adjust as to maintain a given lateral position on the rollers. This is my first belt sander so that might just be due my lack of familiararity with the machine.

The sander has ample power. I have yet to get it to bog down on pine, maple or white oak. The tables are very good. The disk table is machined cast iron and well built. The belt table seems to be pressed from heavy sheet metal but has worked...
