Just what I needed!
My coming to purchase this item started with a search for a table top alcohol lamp. I needed a small heat source that was affordable for my laboratory. I had a hot plate, but I need an open flame source that wasn't as powerful as my Bunsen burner.

After having looked for alcohol lamps, I quickly found that any decent one with an adjustable knob + the cost of replacement wicks would have cost me as much as any butane torch, and I was damn sure not going to pay 25 dollars for a cheap alcohol lamp. Do these not see any use in small experiments anymore? An alcohol lamp to me is useless if I cannot control the wick via a knob. But I digress.

I went looking for a laboratory specific Butane torch, one I could place directly beneath a flask and adjust intensity of the flame. Well, being that I was on a budget I didn't find anything <$50.00 that fit my needs. Why pay more anyhow? They are simple devices that dispense butane at a 90 degree angle. I then went on to look...

good torch reasonable price
after buying a cheap one that didn't work out of the box I sprang for this unit. It works ok. Hard to tell when it is full when fueling. It shoots a large yellow flame at first lighting. this may be because I overfilled it. Fueling was very messy. Fuel leaked everywhere.

No noise Palm Sander
Ok, as strange as this may sound, this is my first time purchasing a sander. Money is pretty tight around our home with four kids (all of them in sports which really hits the finances pretty hard each season start ), so I did lots of searching for "The Deal". I was torn between this one and about 3otherbrands that were somehow lower priced than this one but were total no-names to me and so I decided to pick this one since I knew the Brand and even more, it come with a whole pack of sand paper cut pieces as well as a surprisingly solid hole-punch template for where to the holes need to be should you decide to just buy regular sand-paper sheets and cut them down to size yourself. Most impressive about this item was the first time I turned it on... Let me say that I've used a couple belt sanders and multi-tools before and there was really no conversation when it was they operation without having to shout. This thing was a very low tone lull that was just simply a relief...

Needed repair after a few hours
I was impressed with this oscillating tool at first but after a couple of months it began slowing down and then ran only if it was turned upside down.I took it apart today; a crimped connection to the field coil was loose and I was able to fix it.

Apart from that these are handy tools, able to cut wood and even metal in places no other tool can get. Beware though that if you use it for an extended period of time (eg undercutting baseboard for flooring) you may have tingling and possibly numbness in your hands for a day or so.
