I bought this from Sears about a week ago to use in helping my sister build a Wonky Playhouse which entailed screwing several 3 to 4 inch screws in treated 2x4 lumber.
Before this, we used cordless drills, but without the impact driver feature, even with a beefy 19.2V large drill, that was even a chore. We'd have to pre-drill a hole, then use the cordless to put in the screw. With the impact driver, screws go right in after understanding the technique of starting slower, then once the impact sound starts (in a way, the sound is like a woodpecker!) just guide the screw in and make sure to stop in time as this tool is powerful enough to split the wood if you don't.
