I purchased this item for polishing concrete countertops. I already had an air compressor that can meet a 6 cfm demand and didn't want to purchase an electric wet polisher. You will obviously be better of with an electric polisher if you don't have a fairly big compressor to feed this thing. I have not put this item through its paces yet, however, it appears that a compressor rated for 6 cfm @ 90 psi will run this item indefinitely with no load. It's pretty loud; wear hearing protection. I will update this review when I have a better feel for its capabilities.
Also, Central Pneumatic is a Harbor Freight brand. Harbor Freight sells these for about $30. They will be back in stock at Harbor Freight on July 8, 2012. I despise this seller on general principle for marking up an inexpensive item by 200%, but I simply couldn't wait until July to get my project going. I suggest that you submit a back order to Harbor Freight if you have the luxury of waiting.
