Refurb but works fine
Refurbs are interesting. I don't usually buy them, so we'll see how this one pans out for the long haul. I read the reviews and it seemed like all the negative ones - people were just whiny that this wasn't just like a corded one. No battery tool is going to be as strong as a corded one. This spins at almost half the speed of a corded tool, but I think dewalt did that so it still has plenty of torque. I've used this a handful of times now and noticed that it still cuts everything, just a little slower than corded, but it doesn't bog down. Being cordless and in a bag (it comes with a huge dewalt bag) I am more likely to use it than suffer with a hand tool or drag out an extension cord and set up for a quick cut only to put all that back away. You're not going to use this to cut through a 6" cast iron pipe, but it works great cutting off small things quickly. Or cleaning up all-thread burrs, or cleaning paint off a serial number tag.
