I've broken two of these, in exactly the same way- with sustained use, the output shaft will snap. You will know it's happened when the blade stops getting power from the motor, and it flops down and dangles. (You won't be able to remove it from the saw until you open it up. The repair is not difficult if you're even slightly handy- the worst part is removing the rubber boot over the nose of the saw (peel it straight towards the middle from each end- there are four screws and on big bolt to remove. Once you get it open, it will be obvious what the problem is.) The part costs between $11-25, depending on where you buy it.)

Ergonomically, it works, the switch is easy to keep down but I don't ever turn it on accidentally, the balance and weight are comfortable. and it saws without too much vibration.
