Festool love.
Festool stuff is crazy expensive. So much so that it's out of reach for nearly everyone. That's a crying shame.
I have this sander, the larger dx something or other, and the Festool hepa vac that goes with them. I can sand all day and never get a bit of dust on me, the bench, or in my lungs.
I have some other Festool tools as well, and all are over the top.
The only way I can justify the extreme cost of these tools; saving my lungs. They last forever, but if they're not plugged into the hepa vac, it's hard to make sense of the purchase.
This sander is clunky, heavy, and a bit awkward with the vac hose plugged in. So is my other sander with the larger pad. The sandpaper is expensive, but it lasts long enough that its a value. It all comes back to comfort.
