Home Run for Jet
I replaced my 15 year-old Jet JTAS left-tilt tablesaw with the new deluxe Xacta saw, 3HP, 50" Fence. Jet has come a long way in that time! Fit and finish is superb. The table and extensions are flat, with the exception of a very minor concave bow in the edge of the melamine table. Surface grind is very fine - not a mirror finish, but very smooth. There is virtually no arbor runout, and the saw arrived aligned to the miter slots within a few 10 thousandths. Jet's fence (Xacta Fence II) has also improved over the years. It is heavier and smoother than on my old saw. The miter gauge is basic and unchanged.
The blade guard is superb, literally the first usable guard I've ever owned or personally used - independently moving, very heavy plastic side leaves, see-through top, and even a swinging front plastic piece.
