My second one and it is still the Best of the Best
I don't often write reviews but this item exceeds its hype. I used it to drill a 1 1/4" hole through a live oak in Alabama that is 8 1/2 feet in diameter. The bit was custom made to 9' long with a 7/8" steel shaft and must have weighed over 30 lbs. Since the twist was only 18" long, I needed to clean out the hole every 4-8" or so but the drill worked flawlessly. I bought my first one about 8 years ago and used it to screw tree rods into trees for years. When you consider the power and the quality of this drill, the price is minimal. I paid close to the same for a 28v cordless we use up in the trees for eyebolts and the power is not even close to this monster. I bought the second drill because the switch broke on the first one during shipping to the job ( it had a variable speed option that became troublesome over time-this model is not variable). Amazon had one; I ordered it in a panic at 3 pm and it was on the job by 11 am the next day. My shipping was only $7.89 or so with Prime...
