Holiday cable tacker #5900 - it works!
I bought this cable tacker thinking it would be helpful for tacking up Christmas decorations. It works well when you use it correctly. I really like the plastic cable protectors; these kept me from punching a hole in the extension cord I was trying to tack down. I also really like the little metal guide; this enabled me to align the gun and see exactly where the staple would go. Initially I was really struggling, because the instructions are incomplete if one's a novice with a staple gun. Instructions only tell how to remove the staple pusher--nothing about inserting the staples properly. This might seem obvious, but the staples have these plastic protectors covering the points; without seeing any points on the staples I wasn't really sure how they should be inserted... For other novices like me, put the staple strip in with the loop side up and the plastic side (point-side) down. I also struggled with getting the first couple of staples to go all the way in. I stopped and viewed this...
