I bought a $100. tester a couple of years ago. It worked once or twice then quit. This tester worked right off the bat and was easy to use. (Don't listen to those reviews that say it is hard to use.) This one is ready in a few seconds after you turn it on and the LED's let you know when you have a diamond (or other stones that it can't differentiate). That is the only setback, but for the low price it is very much worth having and using. I love it.
