My Powermatic spindle sander quit oscillating and I ordered the W1730 and the Jet JOVS-10 with the idea that I would keep the machine that would give me the most utility. The Jet arrived first and I had to send it back because it was damaged. The Fox arrived in great shape. This was my first Fox tool and I was apprehensive. I was very pleasantly suprised when I uncrated the machine. One small nick on the motor cover was the only damage I saw and was not large enough to worry about. The finish is very good and appears to be on par with Jet, Delta, and Powermatic. Everything works as it should, the tension mechanism, the stock table, the platen, the adjustable spindle sander table, the motor, and switch. This is a very nice machine and after only two weeks I can tell that it will be used as much as the jointer. Smooth running with excellent results at a reasonable price.
